The FH Campus Wien is setting up a high-tech operating theatre at the university site together with various companies from the health sector and the KAV hospitals association. The unusual research infrastructure enables both proven and new medical, air conditioning/cooling and information technology to be tested, evaluated and further developed.
This enables not only devices and systems to be tested and optimised under realistic conditions, but operational sequences can also be analysed and improved. Total costs for the project subsidised by the Vienna Economic Agency consist of around 1.1 million euros. The OPIC-Project ("Operationssaal-Innovations Center") is expected to run till end of 2020.
TRILUX Medical is also actively contributing to the design of the operation theatre, not only by planning and realisation of the OR area with triathlon® as a modular OR solution with specialised expertise for smart operational processes, but also by equipping with special units for advanced surgery such as the OR integration system Paramon®, our Aurinio Wave® reLED OR lights and the IS 500 OP and Medidrant® DVEs supply systems.
